Synopsis

Bookmarklet that toggles between several levels of dimming an entire webpage. I made this for viewing streams/videos at night on hardware where even the lowest brightness setting still ends up getting too bright.

Walkthrough

While viewing the page you want to dim, click the bookmarklet
Clicking repeatedly will toggle between levels: 25%, 50%, 75%, none

Notes

You can still interact with the webpage via keyboard and mouse/touch, even when dimmed
This will not work for videos in fullscreen mode, since they pop out of the webpage
- Twitch and YouTube both have theater modes to maximize viewport usage of their video players without popping out to fullscreen
- Twitch separately allows you to hide chat to reclaim that space as well
